Buried Treasure

I've been tied down with rehearsals for my performances this weekend, so I haven't been able to post much. But I needed to let you know about my new love....Adele. I don't know where I've been in '08, but clearly I wasn't around anyone who was aware of her, because I "discovered" her this past Sunday. And I haven't listened to anything else since. It doesn't help that Mick Boogie remixed her album "19" with his own rendition "1988."

Once things calm down, I'll be back to shed more light.

Diggin' in the Basement

As I sit in my living room and watch the Giants get their ass handed to them by the Cowboys, I wanted to end my weekend on a high note. I found some "new" Basement Jaxx (at least it's new to me, which is what really matters). The geniuses known as Basement Jaxx have mixed Adele's "Cold Shoulder" and it is FIRE!!!!!

"Cold Shoulder" is off Adele's debut album "19." She describes her style as "heartbroken soul." I hadn't heard about her until today, but I got her album just off this mix. A review of her album is coming..but for now wild out to this...

The beat is just STUPID and the dance is even more RETARDED. If you gettin' that Smoke Squad Money, grab a stack full of c-notes and get your dance on....

Missing NY....

Concepts and Creativity equals Good Music

I've never heard of this group, Duo Live, before but this song is tight. As usual Joell Ortiz goes in! I'd love to hear Guilty Simpson on this beat...who can I call to make it happen...

Ahhhh Good Ole' Memories

I remember bumping this freestyle session over and over and over and over in my dorm. Like seriously, this session was on HEAVY rotation in my room. The entire session is like an hr or soo long. This was when the Roc was at the head of the food chain. I've never actually seen footage of it till now. I'll look for more..but wet your lips with this....

SSSSSSS Squad UP Cheya!!!

I can't believe I started a blog and haven't talked about Stack Bundles till now. Bundles is the truth. He was the future but we lost him last year to. The hood misses you, hip hop misses, and more importantly, D$ and I miss you...haha..but seriously, we lost one of the true greats. Even with his short career, Stack will ALWAYS be my favorite MC of all time....

I thought I've seen every video from him, but here are some "new" clips...D$, these are for you.....SSSSSSSSSS Sqaud up!

I NEED NEW MUSIC....SOMEBODY HELP!!!!!

I've been a busy man lately. I just moved to Atlanta, started a new job, left all my friends and family back in Brooklyn, and tryin' to start a new legacy in the durty durty...just to name a few things that I've been up to. So I haven't been keeping up with any new music. (hence the throwback weezy freestyle and operation humble kanye. I'm still not up to date, but I just found this video today, and it might be old but F*ck it...it's new to me. I love this dude Blu. Lily Kane put me on to him last year, with Below The Heavens, and ever since, I've been tryin to fill up my library with his music. Anyway, this is one one of my favorite song of his latest album, with Mainframe , "Johnson & Jonson." Blu's rapidly rising up to one of my favorite artist right now. This track "Up All Night," is so sick. The beat is ill, reminds me of what hip hop used to sound like, and the lyrics are retarded (N****s be talkin to me crazy cause they think they shady as slim/ I said there's many trees around, you're getting shade from a stem/ That's like taking all the trees out and blazing the stems/ And telling fools that you're shrooming when you're spacing off stems). Like I said, the kid's retarded....check out the video
